The bund strap was originally designed for German pilots during World War II — a protective leather pad placed under the watch case to shield the wrist from extreme heat and cold. Today it lives on as one of the most distinctive vintage watch accessories a collector can own.

The Style I bund pad features a classic flat construction with four strap slots — two at each end — allowing your watch strap to pass through cleanly for a secure, traditional fit. Also commonly known as a leather cuff or watch cuff.

Leather Lining

The underside of the bund pad is lined with soft veg tanned cowhide leather for comfort and durability.

Edge Finishing

Leather edges are beveled and burnished by hand for a smooth finish.

Strap Stitching

Materials

Cut from high grade full grain Italian veg tanned leather from one of the best tanneries in Italy. The leather has a gorgeous texture with natural characteristics, such as wrinkles, marks and pores.

Unique Leather Variation

Every piece of full grain leather has its own unique character, and are all hand-dyed. There are no two pieces that look identical, which means your Cozy Handmade leather bund pad will be one-of-a-kind where each piece may vary from color intensity to texture.

Care Information

As long as the leather does not expose to harsh elements such as prolonged exposure to heat and water, you can care for it as little as once every 6 to 12 months. Refer to leather care page for more info.

Additional Notes

Bund pad will make watch strap wear slightly shorter by approximately 1 hole.

If you are on the cusp between two sizes, you may select the smaller size for a shorter tail, or larger size for a longer tail, depending on your preference. For example, if your wrist size is 180mm, medium 125/75 length would be just right. However, you may choose large 130/80 if you prefer a longer tail or a looser fit.
