The bund strap was originally designed for German pilots during World War II — a protective leather pad placed under the watch case to shield the wrist from extreme heat and cold. Today it lives on as one of the most distinctive vintage watch accessories a collector can own.

The Style II bund pad features a contoured shape with two integrated leather loops, allowing your watch strap to pass through with a cleaner, more secure fit than the traditional slot design. A subtle but meaningful refinement for those who want a tidier look on the wrist. Also commonly known as a leather cuff or watch cuff.

The underside of the bund pad is lined with soft vegetable-tanned leather for comfort and durability.

Leather edges are beveled and burnished by hand for a smooth finish.

Materials

Cut from full grain vegetable-tanned Italian leather, sourced from a Consorzio-affiliated tannery in Tuscany. Each hide carries its own natural surface character — and over time, the leather softens and develops a rich personal patina, creating a piece with a look that is uniquely yours.

Unique Leather Variation

Every piece of full grain leather carries its own natural character, and because each hide is hand-dyed individually, no two pieces are ever identical. Your Cozy Handmade bund pad is one of a kind, with subtle variations in colour intensity, grain, and texture that make it entirely yours.

Care Information

As long as the leather does not expose to harsh elements such as prolonged exposure to heat and water, you can care for it as little as once every 6 to 12 months. Refer to leather care page for more info.

Additional Notes

Bund pads add thickness to the watch strap, which can cause it to wear approximately 1 hole shorter. We recommend ordering a strap size larger than usual to ensure a comfortable fit.
